If you have more than one WordPress site to manage, or perhaps a lot more than that, you know exactly what I am talking about. Managing multiple WordPress sites can be a real pain if you don’t have the right tool. Not only is it time consuming and heavy on your pocket, but also tiring and frustrating at times. Keeping all of your WordPress sites updated becomes your responsibility and a single miss here or there could cost you your entire hard work.
So today, we’re going to tell you about this super awesome tool that will save you all of your hard work and time! The name is ManageWP.
What is ManageWP
ManageWP, as is pretty evident from the name itself, would help you manage all of your WordPress sites from a single window! It is linked in the WordPress plugin repository to ManageWP Worker. This plugin enables you to connect your website with your ManageWP dashboard. This gives you the power to access and handle all of your WordPress installs from a single dashboard and a single login. You can perform both, collective and individual actions to your WordPress sites from the ManageWP dashboard.
And that’s not it. ManageWP further provides you with a bag full of awesome features! And this is exactly what makes ManageWP, as mentioned in the official ManageWP website itself, “The Ultimate WordPress Dashboard“.
How to Setup ManageWP
To setup ManageWP, it is necessary that you sign up through ManageWP’s website and then add to it the websites you want to manage.
Now, before opting for a premium paid plan of ManageWP, you can have a free trial too. This free trial includes all premium features for 14 days, and you can add up to 500 domains to manage. This would get you hands on experience of this tool and further help you to choose a suitable plan for yourself later. Go to ManageWP.com and click on the Let’s Get Started button. Enter your email address and then hit Try It For Free.
You will then be redirected to your ManageWP account. You can check the email address you gave, to get the link to set a password for your ManageWP account.
Now you got to head over to the WordPress dashboard of the website(s) you want to add to ManageWP. You will have to install the ManageWP Worker plugin to each of those sites which you want to manage.
To setup ManageWP through your WordPress dashboard, head over to Plugins > Add New. In the search box type “ManageWP Worker”, and then install and activate the plugin.
Once you activate the plugin you will get a notification to add your site to your ManageWP dashboard. Now you need to head back to your ManageWP account, and then click on the Add Website button.
Enter your website’s address and then click on Add to ManageWP.
You will get a message that your website has been successfully added. Similarly, you can add several other WordPress websites to your ManageWP dashboard. If you like, you can continue with a single website too.
In your ManageWP account, click on the Sync Dashboard button next to the name of your added website. And there you go! You can now easily manage multiple WordPress sites by toggling between the ManageWP and the WordPress Admin view. Through the ManageWP view, you can execute actions collectively for your added websites, while through the WordPress Admin view you can take individual actions for each.
The Features That ManageWP Provides You
Now that you have successfully linked your website(s) with your ManageWP dashboard, it’s time to explore the awesome features that ManageWP has to offer!
As already mentioned, your ManageWP dashboard is the ultimate tool to manage all of your WordPress sites. Updating the themes and plugins for all your sites becomes as easy as clicking the “Update Everything” button. You can upgrade to the latest version of WordPress for all of your sites from just one click.
Managing users, moderating comments, deleting spam comments, creating posts and all of that – just one click and everything on all or any given website can be done! The star here is definitely the One-Click feature. This enables ManageWP to make the task to manage multiple WordPress sites effortless and hassle-free.
Who wouldn’t like to get regular updates about what’s going on with their sites? I personally, would love that. And the Monitor feature of ManageWP gives you exactly that ability. You get a constant uptime monitoring power, which lets you know every time your site goes down. You will be notified if there is any update to be done either to your themes, plugins, WordPress or ManageWP. Also, you will be able to monitor the traffic on your sites at all times, which is indeed very advantageous.
We spend a good deal of time searching for the appropriate keywords for our sites and the posts. In addition to that, we spend lots of money on expensive SEO packages. But guess what? With ManageWP, that doesn’t need to happen now. Your ManageWP dashboard has built-in powerful SEO tools and performance checkers without the extra costs. Furthermore, you get a robust keyword ranking tool which helps you to maximize optimization. And the integration of ManageWP dashboard with Google Analytics just proves to be the icing on the cake, helping you to get an overview and make better decisions for your sites.
Backing up your WordPress data just gets easier with ManageWP, thanks to the easy and reliable options provided. You can create both complete and selective backups as and when you like, and safely save them to your server, other third party apps like Dropbox or even to your email. You can even schedule your backups to take place automatically on a daily, weekly or monthly basis. Restoring these backups as required, is equally easy and quick.
Clone and Deploy
A highly useful feature of ManageWP is the clone tool. Using this you can create a replica of an entire site or just any specific element such as theme, plugins, etc. Now these clones are profound time savers. Why, you may ask. That’s because with these clones by your side, you can easily start off a new website in much less time than having to create it from scratch.
You can also create templates with pre-installed themes and plugins, so that they can be used over and over again for various websites using the clone tool. They are just as easy to deploy in a production environment too.
And site migrations, i.e., moving your sites from one server to another couldn’t have got much easier, all credit to the clone tool. Simply clone the websites and move them to the new host. This way is really time-saving and hassle free, than having to do the site migrations yourself.
ManageWP has made posting to several websites from a single window possible. Now you don’t have to login into several WordPress sites to write content and publish. And bulk posting is just a matter of seconds, as all you need to do is write your content, select the sites you want it to be published on, and there you go! This is just another way how ManageWP saves loads of your time and hard work, and makes the task to manage multiple WordPress sites less fussy.
ManageWP claims to have security as their highest priority, and indeed they have proven this with their robust security standards. Your sites will be taken care of to be free from malware and other viruses, and your ManageWP activity will always be secure. The high level encryption, Sucuri integration, and two-factor authentication for login, are more than enough to keep you at peace.
ManageWP provides a flexible and reasonable scale of pricing. The number of sites (with unique domain names) that you manage determines the price you will have to pay. Also, the price tag depends on the package you choose – Standard, Professional or Business.
The perk you get here is that the more sites you add, lesser is the cost per site. Furthermore, if you choose to pay annually or biennially, you can save up to 10%.
The free plan is valid for using up to 5 sites and it will have limited features. However it is ideal for individual bloggers and those who don’t want to spend much on their websites.
This plan includes everything you get with the Free plan, plus the feature of manual backups. The price starts from $1.50 per month for 1 website. The more sites you add, the lesser the price per month gets.
The most preferred plan, Professional plan has the features of manual and scheduled backups, cloning, client reports and Google Analytics in addition to the features of the Standard plan. Starting price for 1 site is $4.50 per month, which goes down as you add more number of sites.
Business plan of ManageWP is mostly preferred by large businesses and commercial websites. This is the full-blown plan that offers you every feature that ManageWP has. In addition to the features of the previously mentioned plans, it offers SEO analysis, search engine ranking tracker, uptime monitoring and white labeling. It is thus very reasonable that this plan is also the most expensive one. Its cost starts at $9.00 per month for 1 website. And as is for the other plans, here too, price per moth reduces for every additional site added.
There’s a ManageWP App Too!
With all the goodies you get with ManageWP, now you also get the freedom to manage multiple WordPress sites from your mobile devices! ManageWP app is available for iOS and Android platforms. So no worries now if you get an urgent call from a client, or you suddenly get reminded of an important update you had to do. Just flip out your phone and off you go!
